OUR APPROACH

At Dalton Pre-School Nursery, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage ( EYFS ), this focuses on all 7 areas of learning.

Our intent is to give the children the best possible start to their education, recognising that every child learns differently and giving them learning opportunities that support them in reaching their full potential. Dalton Preschool Nursery recognises the crucial role that Early Years education has to play in providing firm foundations upon which the rest of a child's education is successfully based.

Parent
Partnership

At our  setting, we believe in the importance of parent partnership. We warmly invite parents to tour our facilities, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed about their child's environment. Through the Tapestry app, we keep parents updated on their development and milestones, fostering open communication. We also encourage parents to upload their own observations and experiences to Tapestry, showcasing the wonderful activities learning moments that happen at home. By sharing these insights, we can work together to support each child's growth and celebrate their achievements, creating a more comprehensive picture.

We host parents evenings and provide general handovers during drop-off and pick-up times. All children are assigned a dedicated key worker, and in their absence, we utilize a buddy system to ensure continuity of care and support for both parents/careers and their children.

Healthy Eating & Oral Health

The Early Years Framework emphasizes the significance of healthy eating and oral health as foundational aspects of children's development. Within our  setting, we actively support these principles by offering nutritious snacks and providing milk and water for hydration. We also engage children through stories and play activities that highlight the importance of healthy habits, alongside promoting physical development to encourage an active lifestyle. By creating a positive environment around nutrition and health, we lay the groundwork for lifelong choices.

Our  team is committed to accommodating various dietary requirements, making sure every child is kept safe and well.

Please note that we are a NUT FREE setting.

Parent Feedback

''My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 8 months old and as she approaches 3, I couldn't be more happier with her progress. It has always been a welcoming environment & they really strive to be as accommodating as possible to help you.

Being located on the army camp, they have a fantastic understanding of Military life.

They have been a great support during times where my husband has been away, providing the stability and extra care that makes the world of difference for service families. It's a brilliant setting and I highly recommend them''
